Thermal Performance

Looking after the milliamps isn't just good for the environment, it can reduce the overall product cost and increase reliability. This industrial interface includes a 60W high efficiency SMPS in a totally sealed case. A cheaper, lower efficiency PSU would have been a false economy, requiring machined ventilation slots, secondary painting operations, and ingress of dust and moisture in a factory environment.

Shown here running at full load under ambient conditions, key temperatures are kept well within acceptable limits. In particular, the external surface temperature does not exceed the limits set in BS EN 60950. thermal.gif (8518 bytes)
